How it works

Seven gentle steps to a story that stays.

You don't need to write a full life story yourself. Share the memories, milestones and moments that matter — our Story Builder drafts the biography for you to review, refine and publish in your own time.

Finish it in an evening, or come back to it over months. There is no wrong way to remember a life.

  1. 01

    Who are we remembering?

Start with the essentials — their full name, the years of their life, and a single hero photograph. Choose whether this is a Living Legacy (preserved while they're still with us) or a Legacy Story (in loving memory). It takes just a minute, and you can change anything later.

  2. 02

    Tell us about them

Answer twenty gentle, guided questions across five chapters — Personality, Family, Passions, Challenges and Legacy. Don't worry about writing a polished biography. Share fragments, memories, a sentence, a story your mum always told. Skip anything you don't know. The more you share, the richer the draft.

  3. 03

    Life milestones

Add the moments that shaped their life — births, marriages, the move overseas, the day they opened the shop, the grandchild who arrived in winter. A simple timeline you can add to over weeks or finish in an afternoon. Five entries or fifty, both are enough.

  4. 04

    Photo memories

Upload the photographs that hold the most — the wedding day, the back garden, the kitchen at Christmas. Captions are entirely optional. Drag, drop and reorder. These photos sit alongside the story and bring the words to life.

  5. 05

    Story Builder drafts the biography

This is the moment everything comes together. The Story Builder reads everything you've shared — the questions, the milestones, the photos — and drafts a complete life story for you. A hero summary, the full biography in chapters, life lessons in their voice, and a handful of hero quotes. You don't have to write any of it yourself.

  6. 06

    Review, refine and edit

The draft is yours to shape. Read it through. Change a word, rewrite a paragraph, soften a sentence, add a detail you forgot. Regenerate any single section without disturbing the rest. Nothing is published until you say so — take an hour or take a month. Keep only what feels true to them.

  7. 07

    Publish & preserve

When you're ready, publish the story. You'll receive a permanent Story ID, a permanent URL and a QR code you can print, frame or share. The story is now preserved — accessible to family today and to the generations who haven't been born yet.
